Hash (or hashish) is  made from the cannabis plant. It comes from the resin (a sticky substance) of the plant, especially from the flowers.

The main active chemical in hash is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which affects the brain and causes the “high” feeling.

People usually use hash by:

• Smoking it (often mixed with tobacco in a joint or in a pipe)

• Vaporizing it

• Sometimes adding it to food

Common effects of hash can include:

• Feeling relaxed or happy

• Altered perception of time and senses

• Increased appetite (feeling hungry)

• Feeling calm or sleepy

However, it can also have side effects, such as:

• Problems with memory and concentration

• Anxiety or paranoia

• Dizziness

• Slower reaction time

Hash is related to marijuana, but hash is usually more concentrated because it contains a higher amount of THC.
